Bloom’s Taxonomy Training - Virtual
- This event has passed.
This was a virtual training for all School of Business teaching staff.
The faculty was taught that it is important to note the different levels of thinking defined within each domain of the Taxonomy are hierarchical and that Specific learning outcomes can be derived from the taxonomy, though it is most commonly used to assess learning on a variety of cognitive levels.
Bloom’s taxonomy is a set of three hierarchical models used for the classification of educational learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. The three lists cover the learning objectives in cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains and was developed to provide a common language for teachers to discuss and exchange learning and assessment methods.
By the end of the training, the participants were expected to use Bloom’s taxonomy for writing effective learning outcomes and the students be able to identify and define a research problem.
The training had 78 registrants but only 49 participated. The facilitator was Dr. Edward Ombajo of Agha Khan University.
