Globally, the teaching and learning environment in the higher education sector has faced a myriad of disruptions including economic, political, and most recently the COVID-19 pandemic which provided impetus to fully adopt technological interventions. Additionally, discourse on the role played by rapid advances in technology including A.I, Big data and IOT in the dissemination of knowledge has continued to disrupt the teaching and learning methods and landscape. The turbulence in higher education calls for multifaceted interventions. Key among them is the need for a paradigm shift in pedagogy from traditional didactic to a student-centered constructivist approach. These approaches call for the innovative engagement of digital natives where students interact with peers and teachers in a rich learning environment. In order to consolidate this effort the University established the CTLE with a mandate of promoting professional pedagogical approaches that are responsive to the disruption. The CTLE is a critical framework that guides the University in achieving academic excellence which is a key pillar in the overall University strategic plan. The CTLE is founded on five strategic pillars and is technology and research-driven. It is envisioned that the implementation of the centers strategic plan will spark creativity and passion for learning and augment KCA University’s position as a premier business and technology University of choice.
